Machine Retrofit
Machine Retrofit in the Upper Midwest
A Retrofit, by definition, is the “upgrade of a machine” to furnish it with new or modified parts or equipment not available or considered necessary at the time of manufacture. WIMS has been a pioneer of this concept. Our staff of technicians utilizes innovative technology and experience to make recommendations to our customers on a possible Retrofit or upgrade.
Examples of successful Retrofit/Upgrade: fabrication and installation of a Hydraulic overload system in a Punch Press, installation of upgraded Machine lubrication systems with monitoring capabilities, and installation of Clutch/Brake assemblies to replace obsolete OEM parts. This may require manufacturing a new drive shaft, manufacturing a brake actuation arm, portable Machining on the machine to accept the new brake arm, and machining the flywheel to accept the new Clutch/Brake assembly.
